An agreement in between the consultant physicians and Bangladesh Ship Breakers Association Hospital authority was signed on Friday to run the BSBA hospital in the port city. The deal was signed yesterday at Bhatiary shipbreaking yard complex in Chittagong.
Shipyard owner MA Taher and Dr. BK Das signed the deal on respective side, sources said. Among others, vice president of BSBA Md. Shafi, Executive member NUM Jahangir Chowdhury, Naim shah, Jahirul Islam, Md. Loknan, Sekander Hossain, Md. Salahuddin, Ashiqur Rahman Laskar, chairman of Batiary UP Anowar Hossain,Dr. Debasish, Dr. Nasim were present on the occasion. BSBA constructed 6-storied hospital building at a cost of Tk.30 crores for extending medicare services to the shipbreaking workers and their family members.
Sources said to remove the negative mentality over the shipbreaking yard of Bangladesh, BSBA has taken this initiatives for better medical services to the shipbreaking workers.
 BSBA sources said Netherland govt has patronized the shipbreaking sector for better healthcare service . Sources said there are imergency outdoor, medicine deptt, child department, cardiatic and kidney deptt , surgery, orthopedics, eye and ENT department and these department will be enlarged in phases , sources added.
