The Religious Affairs Ministry has extended the deadline for this year’s Hajj registration to Sunday.
The ministry made the announcement on Thursday through a notification. The notification said that the Hajj registration process has been refixed May 22, under both public and private management.
It also read that the branches concerned of the banks involved with Hajj activities will accept registration fees even on Saturday for this purpose. The ministry sources said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate this year’s Hajj flights, which will likely start on May 31.
A total of 57,856 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be permitted to
perform Hajj this year. Among them, 31,000 will fly by Biman Bangladesh Airlines and the rest will by Saudia and another airlines subject to getting permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.
