DCs asked to hotel requisition to accommodate health workers

The government has asked the deputy commissioners to take steps for requisition of buildings nad vehicles to accommodate physicians, nurses and others engaged in serving coronavirus patients.
Directorate general of health services, under the Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Sunday sent an urgent order to all DCs to take allout preparations for providing accommodation to physicians, nurses and those involved in serving coronavirus patients.
The letter said that separate hospitals or centres for coronavirus infected
patients, vehicles for carrying physicians, nurses and related persons, ambulance for patients and sufficient PPE, medicine and ventilator,for physicians, nurses, and bags for carrying dead bodies should be kept ready.
“The district civil surgeon will take necessary steps after discussion with the Corona infection prevention committee. And then inform the Health Ministry for necessary cooperation,” it added.
It also mentioned that the government will pay the utility bills of the hotels/buildings during the period of requisition. The government will bear the expense of meals at a fixed rate. The hotels/buildings owners will extend overall cooperation including with manpower.
Health Services Division Joint Secretary Tapan Kumar Biswas will have to be informed matters relating to requisition.
