Flame Boys Rugby Club emerged men’s section champions in the First Security Islami Bank Sand Rugby competition beating Bangladesh J Sports Rugby Club by 2-1 points in the final held today (Friday) on Paltan ground adjoining Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the women’s section, Topdil.com rugby club emerged champions beating Victoria Sports Club by 1-1 point in the final also held at the same venue, said a Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union (BRFU) press release.
Earlier, BRFU president Abdullah Al Zahir Swapan formally inaugurated the daylong meet as the chief guest.
A total of 12 teams-six of man’s and six of woman’s-took part in the competition, sponsored by First Security Islami Bank and organised by Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union.
The participating teams:
Man’s teams: Flame Boys Rugby Club, Bangladesh J-Sports Rugby Club, Cambrian Rugby Club, Khilgaon Pragati Sangsad, Turjo Sporting Club and Laxmibazar Rugby Club.
Woman’s teams : Flame Girls’ Rugby Club, Topdil.com.bd, Victoria Sporting Club, Cambrian Rugby Club and Laxmibazar Rugby Club.
