Day temperature may rise slightly

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may
remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at different places across the country in 24 hours ending at 9am today, said a BMD press release yesterday. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions,” said the met office in a 24-hour weather forecast commencing from 9am yesterday. It also predicted moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the period.
Country’s highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet and Thursday’s minimum temperature was recorded 24.5 degrees Celsius at Gopalgonj and Khepupara respectively.The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am yesterday was recorded 106mm at Mongla in Khulna.
