Civility and environment has been associated with innovation and an event has been named by the combination of three words in CENNOVATION. Islamic University of Technology (IUT) recently organized the ‘Anwar Steel CENNOVATION 2014’.
Students of BUET, Dhaka University, Ahsanullah Science and Technology University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology with 15 other institutions are taking part at the event as well as the IUT.
Fourth-year student of the IUT, Afrahim Sadid said, this is not just a competitions or festival, which can be called as one of the big conjunction of future engineers for the environment. Photography, Poster and Project Exhibition is opened to the visitors after the opening ceremony.
Nahruma Mehjabeen, a first year student of BUET obtained the first place in the ‘Mechanics Olympiad’, which was participated by the 200 students. Poster presentation, case study reviews and judgment activities of the project display starts after the lunch break. The third year students of BUET, Sheikh Mohammed Mashroor and Rezwanul Islam were the champion at the project display event.
The main theme of the case study, how to reduce the salinity of the water and can be used freely in our daily work in the south area of the country. The team of Ifaz, Arafat and Pulok ‘Spondon’ was the champion at this event.
Mashnoor Rashid, a third year student of IUT took the first prize in the ‘Environmental Photography’ competition. Finally the exhibition was ended by the prize giving ceremony. Students of the Department of Civil and Environmental of IUT were the general organizer.
