DAP Factory resumes productions after more than 3- yr

The production of Dai Amonia Phospate (DAP) fertilizer factory begins productions after closure of 3 years from Monday .
The factory was declared closed on August 16, 2016 following the tank explosions . The DAP factory remained closed for about 3 yrs 2 months lack of reinstallation of new tank. Considering high expensive to install new tank , the factory remained shut. Following the the advices of BUET Engineers in cooperation of home based engineers, the tank was repaired and reinstalled saving about Tk.150 crores of govt fund. Folliwing the shut for 3 yrs, the factory deprieved of Tk.2000 crores.
There are two production units in the factory having production capacity of 800 metric tons in each unit per day.Amonia and Phosferic acid are used as ra w materials of DAP Factory . With the explosion of No.1 unit, it suspended production from August and after 6 months, the second unit also shut down due technical glitch in the production machineries. Factory sources said if one unit resumes full production without any hindrances, it can produce fertilizer worth about Tk.50 crores in a month and according to that DAP factory incurs loss about Tk.2000 crores during the last periods of shut down. Reliable sources said after 3 months unprecedented repairing works by the BUET Engineering consultants and BCIC engineers , the factory resumes productions from afternoon on Monday last.
Mentionable that a Chinese Plant construction firm installed the factory in 2006 at Rangadia under Anowara upazila on south bank of river Karnaphuli. Managing Director of DAP Factory Abdur Rahim told the New Nation , the resumption of productions in the factory is our unwanted success of home engineer which saved about Tk.150 crores in reinstallation head.
