US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena passed a busy day at Narail on Sunday (May 11)
At 10 am on Sunday Dan W Mozena attended a view exchange meeting at DC’s conference room with district level government officials .
Later, he visited ‘SM Sultan Complex’. There in a briefing before journalists he applauded Sultan for his outstanding pieces of paintings. At 3pm he attended at an open budget session at Mulia UP office premises under sadar upazila of the district as chief guest while Deputy Commissioner of Narail Abdul Gaffar Khan and Mrs. Taleya Rehman attended the session as special guests. Mulia UP chairman Mr. Rabindranath Adhikary presented the budget of the union for the upcoming 2014-15 financial year before the people of the union. People of the union took part in the budget discussion. In his speech Chief Guest Dan Mozena said, democracy is the most discussed term in politics and running states. What you all are practicing here now is democracy.
He reiterated Abrahamlincon’s definition of democracy that ‘government is of the people, by the people and for the people’.
