A 16-member Daffodil International University cricket team will leave the capital for Malaysia on Friday to participate in the 8th International Inter-University Cricket Tournament beginning there on November 10.
Six University teams of England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and hosts Malaysia will compete in the nine-day tournament, organized by University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), popularly known as national university of Malaysia
UKM invited Daffodil University Cricket team of Bangladesh to participate in the meet considering their recent performances in the national level. Pran-Frooto emerged as the co-sponsor of the cricket team.
Treasurer of the University Hamidul Haque Khan disclosed this at a press conference at the university auditorium with Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Dr M Golam Rahman in the chair.
Former captain of the national cricket team Habibul Bashar Sumon, former national opener Mehrab Hossain Opee, university student and national opener Imrul Kayes and Head of the Marketing of Pran Beverages Ltd M Atiqur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
