Dacoits in guise of police loot valuables worth Tk 10 lakh

A group of dacoits/robbers wearing mouth masks and identifying themselves as ‘men of law’ armed with sharp country weapons tactfully and suddenly entered the dwelling house of Moslehuddin , tied the inmates’ hands and legs and then looted away valuables and cash worth about Tk ten lakhs and injured three persons early Tuesday at Bokshaganj village- a remote area under Kochua Upazila.
Three inmates were injured when they raised hue and cry for help of the neighbours. The injured are : old woman Siru Begum,60, Sufiya Begum, 35 and Tahmina Begum, 35. Tahmina was treated at the local Health Complex.. Contacted, affected Moslehuddin told this correspondent that his two sons are working abroad.. The dacoits comprising 10 to 12 people in the guise of Police (men of law) tactfully entered his dwelling house and looted the cash and kind worth Tk ten lakhs and injured three women. The looted items included cash money of Tk 20 thousand, 25 vori gold ornaments and other valuables. Not only that, before leaving, the dacoits threatened them all not to disclose this matter to anybody and then safely fled away.
Otherwise, they threatened, they would come again within seven days and then kill them. Before committing this crime, the dacoits earlier, shut down all the doors of the houses of the neighbours from outside. So, none could come out to help the victims. Talking to this correspondent, OC Kochua Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan has confirmed the news adding that the dacoits, numbering about 12 , wearing mouth masks, jackets, money caps and lungi armed with country made sharp weapons committed this dacoity ‘at Bokshaganj village -a remote area under Palakhal union in Kochua Upazila. He added, on getting information at 12.30 pm today, Tuesday, a Police team led by he himself visited the spot. Then Additional Police Super Mizanur Rahman also visited the spot in the afternoon. The OC added, no case was filed in this connection till filing this news.
