Cybercrimes a threat to nat’l polls: CTTC chief

Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Chief Monirul Islam on Saturday termed the cybercrimes as a threat to the upcoming national polls likely to be held in December.
The Digital Security Act will be helpful in
preventing such crimes after the formation of the finalization.
He said, these while talking to reporters at a program in Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
The law enforcement agencies will take tough action if any attempt is made to create anarchy centering the verdict in the grenade attack case, which is set to be delivered on October 10, he warned, adding there is no intelligence report of sabotage ahead of Durga Puja.
However, the CTTC chief, pointed out that the law enforcement agencies are vigilant considering the global perspective and recent incidents.
