CWASA urged to reduce system loss : LGRD Secy

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Helaluddin Ahmed has urged to reduce the loss of CWASA
He made this call at a review meeting of ongoing WASA projects held at the Chattogram WASA Conference Hall on Sunday afternoon.
LGRD Secretary said CWASA needs to be turned into a profiteering organization by reducing groundwater use and system loss to zero level. The govt aims to supply water to various industrial areas including Sitakunda and Mirsarai by 2030. He also said that the govt is sincere enough to provide clean water to the city dwellers.
 CWASA Managing Director Engineer AKM Fazlullah presented the development activities of
CWASA of the last 10 years. Besides, Chief Engineer Maqsood Alam outlined the projects implemented and under implementation by WASA and Project Director Ariful Islam spoke about the city’s sewerage project. The meeting was attended by WASA Deputy Managing Director (Administration) Tahera Ferdous and other officials of the organization.
