The police on Sunday recovered the body of a customs official from his rented house in Ashkona area in Dhaka.
Deceased Faruk Hossain, 50, was a sub-inspector of the Dhaka Customs House, said Moazzem Hossain, commissioner of the Dhaka Customs House.
Customs officials said that they noticed the SI’s absence at office and tried to reach him on mobile phone but failed.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Dakshin Khan zone additional deputy commissioner ASM Hafizur Rahman said that they went to the spot on information and recovered the body after breaking open the door.
He said that the body was found on the floor and there were no marks of external injuries.
Details would be found after a post-mortem examination, he added.
