Customs E-payment, E-auction fraud prevention program unveiled at Ctg : NBR

Commenting on the process of stopping e-payment, e-auction fraud, Member of the National Board of Revenue (VAT ) Masood Sadiq said, “I have seen in the past that goods have been unloaded by forging treasury challan/ invoices.” E-tender system has been introduced for awarding better jobs.
The custom house auction is a regular subject, so initiatives have been taken to digitize it.He was responding to reporters’ questions after inaugurating e-payment awareness training and e-auction program at Chattogram Custom House yesterday noon(Tuesday).
He said e-auction has started at Chattogram Custom House for the first time. Earlier, it started at Benapole Custom House. Automatically Chattogram Custom House Code (301) will come with the invoice number,he said . Several times there may be server gap, internet speed may be low. There will be some limitations at first when it comes to work. We have to overcome them and move forward.
Regarding the attempted fraud by opening a fake website in the name of the Ministry of Commerce, he said that the fraudsters who were in the past, are in the present and may be in the future. They use new techniques for the purpose of forgery.
