CUJA executives elected

Chittagong University Journalist’s Association (CUJA) election for the year 2017-18 was held at Proctor Office on Sunday.
Baizid Emon of the daily Bangladesh Pratidin and Abdullah al Faisal of the daily Azadi were elected President and General Secretary of Chittagong University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) respectively for one year .
Voting was held for two posts of the executive body as candidates for five other posts have been elected unopposed.
Aabdulla al Faisal of the Daily Azadi defeated Mostafa Roni of daily Ittefaq for the post of General Secretary while Zobair Chowdury of the local daily Purbodesh defeated Nazmus Sadat of the local daily Sangu for the post of press and public secretary
Office-bearers elected unopposed are: Baizid Emon of the daily Bangladesh Pratidin as president, Mumin Masud of the desh review as vice president, Imran Hossain of The New Nation as Joint Secretary, Joy Das of the local daily Priyo Chattagram as treasurer and Abdullah Raqib of the Jago news as executive member.
A total of 26 voters casted their votes, said chief election commissioner Niaz Murshad Repon, adding the voting began around 10.00 pm and continued till 2,30 pm. Chief election commissioner announced the result around 3.00 pm, where CU Proctor Ali Azgor Chowdhury along with 4 assistant proctors and ex-president-secretary was present here.
