Police arrested a student of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology for making derogatory remarks about religion on Facebook.
The student was arrested from the port city’s Uttor Nalapara area early on Sunday morning, reported our correspondent.
Before his arrest, police filed a case with Raozan Police Station against the student under Digital Security Act (DSA) after his alleged derogatory remarks went viral on Facebook.
Cuet authorities later suspended the student from the university. The decision was taken at a disciplinary committee meeting on Sunday, said Rashedul Islam, public relations officer of Cuet.
