CU Correspondent :
Residential students of Pritilata Hall of Chittagong University (CU) locked the provost’s room to protest against the poor quality of food and misconduct of the employees of the hall.
The students locked the provost’s room during a meeting of the hall provosts and House tutors on Thursday at 11:30 am.
Residential students said that the staff of the hall treated them badly when they complained about the poor quality of food in the canteen. The matter was informed to the hall authorities but no action was taken.
University Proctor Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan said that the provost and teachers of Pritilata Hall took part in their regular meeting. At this time the students locked the provost’s room without informing anything.
Later, members of the Proctorial Body went there. They have asked the provost to take a written application from the students to know their demands. Students are later assured that their demands will be met if they apply. Afterwards, the Provost room was unlocked.
