After a 25-day-long vacation, the academic activities of Chittagong University resumed yesterday, a day after the admission test for the first year Honours courses ended.
The appearance of the students was very poor.
Earlier, the varsity went on 25-day vacation on the occasion of Durga Puja, Ashura and admission test.
Visiting the university, most of the classes of many departments were found not held but scheduled examination was held duly.
The halls for male students were found vacant as fear gripped the residential students after the fierce clash between two rivals of Chhatra League on November 2,that left over 40 injured including 4 cops.
Apart from, most of the activists of Chhatra League, who reside two largest halls, were fugitive after three more cases were filed with the Hathazari Thana against over 230 BCL activists.
The shuttle train operated as usual and the faculty member-carrying busses were transported duely, said a transport official, said deputy register Forhad Hossain.
Proctor Ali Azgor Chowdhury said, the classes resumed from yesterday. He, however admitted the poor appearance of the students.
