The authorities of the Chittagong University (CU) on Thursday postponed the scheduled examinations of all departments under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities till August 28.
Acting Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Mohammad Mohiuddin said today’s (Thursday) pre-scheduled examinations of all departments under the Faculty have been postponed but the examinations of the other faculties would be held as per pre-schedules.
The authorities closed Suharawardy Hall after the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Bangladesh Chhatra League clashed over establishing supremacy in the hall on Sunday night.
Later, police recovered 13 petrol bombs and two cocktails from the Shibir dominated dormitory and filed a case against nearly 200 Shibir activists in this connection.
CU Proctor Siraz-ud-Dowlla said the authority would soon reopen the dormitory following the probe committee report on the incident that took place at Suharawardy Hall, lone residential dormitory for the students of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
