CU expels student for sexual assault on female student

The Chittagong University (CU) has expelled Probir Ghose for one year , a Master’s student of Communication and Journalism Department, on the charge of sexual assault of a female student.
The university authority expelled Probir as per special power under Broad of Residence, Health and Discipline after students brought out a rally at the campus demanding punishment of the culprits on Sunday noon.
CU Proctor Prof SM MonirulHasan confirmed this decision on Sunday noon. The decision will be effective on 1 March this year. The matter will be reported at a meeting of the University Board of Residence, Health and Disciplinary Committee. He further added
Earlier, on 1 March, the victim, a student of the same academic year in the Department of International Relations, was physically assaulted by Probir at KhataPahar Road of the university at night. Later, the victim’s classmates were detained and handed him over to the Proctorial Body who immediately sent him to the mobile court. Later, around 9 pm, a mobile court headed by HathazariUpazila Executive Officer Ruhul Amin sentenced the accused for one month and sent him jail.
The fair is in the interest of traders. There is no alternative to non-traditional product exports. A target of 50 billion exports has been set in 2021. In response to a question, he said a letter would be given to the Chittagong Civil Surgeon on what could be done to raise awareness of the coronavirus.
Syed Jamal Ahmed said that nearly 4 lakh square feet is fair area, there were 20 Premier Pavilions, 33 Premier Stall, 115 Gold Stall, 28 Mega Stalls, 8 food Stalls, Partner country Zone, 4 separate Zone . More than 400 business institutions will participate in the Fair.
