CU BCL clash again

Just after returning from the interment of their colleague, two groups of Chhatra League of Chittagong University unit again involved in clash at Tuesday night, which leaves one injured and caused several residential rooms vandalized.
Earlier, the activists of Chhatra League of several groups jointly organized several programs including saying prayer and dua-mahfil for mourning the death of CU BCL committee organizing Secretary Imamul Huq Rasel, died by road accident on Monday.
CU sources said the activists of Akakar Group, headed by Sahil Ahmed, Vice President of Chhatra League and the activists of Varsity Express (VX) group, lead by Mizanur Rahman Bipul, organizing secretary of BCL involved a hour-long clash from 10.00 pm 11.30 pm with country made weapon.
Earlier, the activists of VX group assaulted on Mahbubur Rahman Sahin, sports affairs secretary of BCL, in front of Shahjalal Hall around 10.00 pm. When the news erupted in the campus, the activists of Akakar group vandalized some 5-6 rooms where VX group activists were living and in the mean time the activists of VX group also vandalized some 5-6 rooms where counterparts were living.
Sahin was a Masters student of Islamic History department and sustained serious injury. A Chhatra League leader on condition of anonymity said, the attack came after few days of attacking on VX group leader Mizanur Rahman Bipul. ‘It was a outcome of the attack’, he added.
CU BCL president Alamgir Tipu said, those who are involved in creating disorder, would be came into book under the organizational rules and regulations. CU proctor Ali Azgor Chowdhury told the journalist, those who are involved in the incident, they will be punished.
Meanwhile, the leaders of two groups lodged separate cases against one another in Hathazari thana, accusing several leaders of attack. Hathazari Thana Officer-in-Charge Belal Mohammad Jahangir confirmed it to the reporter.
