Chittagong Bureau :Chittagong district has suffered a sudden one-hour-long power outage as supply in the National Grip was cut off when a transformer at a sub-station caught fire at Hathazari.Officials at the Hathazari 132 kV Grid Sub-Station said the fire started around 8pm on Monday.Chief Engineer of Power Development Board Nazrul Islam could only confirm that the power supply to the grid was cut around 8:20pm leading to blackout across the whole district.However, power supply from the station resumed around 9:20pm following repairs.Electricity began returning to different parts of the port city after that, residents said.
