Minister for Housing and Public Works Engr Mosharaff Hossain said , Mirsarai upazila will be turned into a land bank of Bangladesh as 15 thousands acres of vacant land are easily available here.
He disclosed it while addressing the third annual conference of Bangladesh Economic Samity at Theatre Institute hall in the city as Chief Guest on Friday .
He said none can neglect Chittagong as development of Chittagong is the overall development of the country . The location of Chittagong is strategically important in South East Asia.
Due to geographical location, international LNG terminal and coal fired power plant are going to be established in Moheskhali under Cox’sBazar district .
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much cordial to the development of Chittagong and selected Mirsarai as one of the economic zone of Bangladesh.
He said according to survey of JICA, land measuring 1500 acres will be available in Mirsarai Upazila .
Besides, Mirsarai coast is good for setting up heavy industrial estate. President of Chittgong chapter of Bangladesh Economic Samity Profr. Joyti Bikas Dutta presided over it while the President of the BES Prof. Dr. Ashrafuddin Chowdhury spoke in it as special guest.
