The Chittagong district registry office remained stranded without any official work for the last week. Copyists (Mohrar) of the district registry office enforced strike from Thursday last to press home their demands of canceling the decision of promotion of peon to Mohorar posts.
In protest of the promotion of 3 peons as Mohrar, they launched strike . President of Bangladesh Extra Mohorar Association (Ctg unit) Md. Ebadatullah told that there are standing rules of promotion as Mohorar from the extra-Mohorar post but defying the existing rules, 3 peons were promoted as Mohorar illegally.
He further said the policy of promotion as mohrar is existing for the last 200 years but now the concerned authority violated the existing rules.
