Ctg Press Club celebrates 52nd founding anniv Digital Bangladesh now a reality: Iqbal Sobhan Chy

Chittagong Press Club on Saturday celebrated its 52nd founding anniversary at the Chittagong Engineers’ Institute with Prime Minister’s Media Adviser and Editor of The Daily Observer Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury as Chief Guest.
While addressing the programme, he said, “Bangladesh is developing fast and in near future the country will be a model for all other countries across the world.”
“Digital Bangladesh is no more a dream today, it is now an incredible reality,” he added. Appreciating the role of Chittagong Press Club, he further said that it was a great initiative to accord reception to the journalists and renowned personalities as they work hard towards building a good nation.
“December is a glorious month for our nation during which thousands of freedom fighters had sacrificed their lives for the country’s liberation and democracy,” he said.
Mezbah Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong, was present as Special Guest on the occasion, marking which three senior journalists and one renowned personality was accorded reception.
The senior journalists were Siddique Ahmed, Pankaj Dastider and Iskander Ali Chowdhury while Rama Chowdhury was the renowned personality given honour.
Nupur Kanti Day of The Daily Kaler Kantho and Masud Parvez Milad and Asrafullah Rubel of The Daily Prothom Alo were given the best reporter award in print media category while Mamum Abdullah, Bureau Chief of the Independent Television, was the recipient of best TV journalist award.
Among the photo journalists, Rajesh Chakrabarty, Monjurul Alam Monju and Mustafizur Rahman were given the best awards.
Former Presidents and General Secretaries of the club who were given reception included Abdul Malek, Obaidul Huq, Abu Sufian, Osman Goni Monsur, Ataul Hakim, Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Helal Uddin Chowdhury, Faruk Iqbal, Kalim Sarwar, Rashed Rauf, and Ali Abbas.
The celebration was followed by a daylong colourful programme including a family night at the same venue in the evening.
