State Minister for Shipping Ministry Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken multiple plans to enhance the capacity of Chattogram port as the port is main driving force of the national economy.
He disclosed it while addressing the view exchange meeting organized at the conference room of the CP on Monday. The state minister said all the people concerned with the port will have to come forward to implement the Prime Minister’s plans of development of CP.
Chief Whip Shamsul Huq Chowdhury MP , port chairman Rear Admiral Zulfiqar Aziz and senior officials of the port were present in it.. After the meeting, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury visited important projects including the port’s jetty, patenga container terminal and Bay terminal
Khaled said the present government had been striving hard to implement its pre-election pledge to turn Chattogram port into a leading port of the world. “All illegal structures including power plants must be evicted and there will be zero tolerance, ” the minister asserted.
State Minister said country’s premier sea port Chattogram is running well and there is nothing to be worried about but there must be a chain of command at the port.
The state minister said that all CBA leaders must not be present in all functions excepting the president and secretary. “We are sincere and amiable to all your legitimate demands as you are the assets and indispensable part of the port “he said.
