World Customs Organisation has awarded Certificate of Merit Award to Chittagong Port authority on the basis of its contribution to national income through using Chittagong Port during 2016. Chittagong Port Authority handles 90% import and export trading of the country and realized lion share of the foreign exchange earnings.
