Ctg Port activities resume from yesterday

Loading and unloading operations at Chittagong Port resumed this morning as the Cyclone Nada became weaker crossing the Chittagong coast.
Mohammad Jafar Alam, director (administration and planning) of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), said the loading and unloading operations from different jetties of the port resumed around 8 am yesterday.
“Big lighter ships have already started going to the outer anchorage of the port for unloading goods from mother vessels”, he added.
Earlier on Saturday, Following a meeting of CPA, it decided to postpone the loading and unloading operations at the outer anchorage of Chittagong Port due to rough weather caused by Cyclone Nada.
As the cyclone weakened further and crossed Sitakunda coast of Chittagong today, Chittagong, Mongla, Payra and Cox’s Bazar ports and nearby districts have been advised to show distant cautionary signal number three instead of cautionary signal number four, Met office sources said.
