Former Deputy Finance Secretary of Juba League Central Committee Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babor has taken initiatives to face the ongoing terrible situation of the corona pandemic. He made corona protection booths in Chattogram. He started the work of setting up corona booths on behalf of Alhaj Mohiuddin Chowdhury Foundation at 200 points of the city by his own initiative with the aim of making masks and hand sanitizers easily available to the city dwellers free of cost.
Shibu Prasad Chowdhury, who is in charge of the management of the booth, said that it costs 12 to 14 thousand taka to build this booth which is effective in preventing corona. And for those who contact us about this, we make the booth free and fill the mask and sanitizer for the first time. However, as a condition here, they have to fill the mask and sanitizer from next time.
Public health expert and founder of Chittagong Field Hospital Bidyut Barua said, ‘Masks and hand sanitizers are the main weapons of corona resistance. I have served thousands of Corona patients since the beginning of Corona. From my personal experience I can say that if people properly mask and hand sanitize, it is not very difficult to mobilize Corona.
Appreciating the corona booth, he said it was a good initiative, but that entrepreneurs should not just sit and build the booth, but also ensure that the booth is operating properly and hygienically.
State Minister for Information and Communication Junaid Ahmed Palak has set up Babar’s booth in his area. Inaugurating the booth, the state minister wrote on his Facebook that the public will be able to use masks and sanitizers through self-help without the help of a second person. Everyone will get free masks and sanitizers from this booth which is open to all.
Not only to Minister Palak, Mohiuddin Chowdhury Foundation has donated 10 booths to Narail MP and former national team captain Mashrafe Bin Muturza. He has placed these booths in ten important places of his parliamentary areas.
Barrister Biplob Barua, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Secretary for Office Affairs of the Central Awami League, Shahriar Alam, Minister of State for External Affairs, AHM Kamruzzaman Liton, City Mayor of Rajshahi and many others have placed the gift in their respective areas.
Lohagara, Boalkhali, Chakaria, Chandnaish, Satkania has taken place in 40 wards of the city. The mayor and chairmen of Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachhari, Feni and Hathazari have also set up ATM booths in their areas. Chapainawabganj and Mymensingh Medical College Hospital also have multiple booths.
On the founding anniversary of the Awami League, Swachchasebak League president Nirmal Ranjan Guha and general secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu announced that more than one corona booth would be set up on their behalf.
Dhaka Mayor Atiqul Islam and Fazle Nur Taposh have also taken initiative to set up such booths. Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said the pair of booths is a good fit to make masks and sanitizers easily available to people to deal with the Corona pandemic.
The initiative taken by Babor during the period is certainly to be thanked and for that Babur is also getting applause from different parts of the country.
