Annual general meeting of the Chittagong central Eid Jamaat committee followed by kirat, hamd, nath and Ajan competition by the orphans and poor students of different madrasas and orphanage was held recently at Chittagong circuit house hall. Divisional Commissioner Chittagong Mesbahuddin chaired. After the programs of the orphans and poor students, prizes distributed among the winners of the competitions. Divisional commissioner of Chittagong and chief patron of the jamaat committee Md. Abdullah graced the occasion as chief guest. Secretary General of Central Eid Zamat committee Principal Dr. Karim conducted the competitions and the AGM .
The programs of the competitions inaugurated through reciting the Holy Quran by a Madrasa student Abdur Rahim Miskat. After end of the competition programs of the orphans and poor students, Secretary general of the committee delivered the address of welcome before starting the AGM programs.
Following the sudden death news of mother of the deputy commissioner, he left the venue and the vice President of the committee Advocate Mahbubuuddin presided the AGM. Treasurer of the committee Alhaj Saleh Ahmed Suleman presented the income , esxpenditure statement of the committee of 2014 before the committee members which was accepted unanimously. The meeting unanimously decided to arrange next Eid jamaat at MA Aziz stadium adjacent green field at 9 am. Sources said Principal of Baitus Sharaf Model Kamil Madrasa Hazrat Moulana Syed Mohammad Abu Noman will conduct the Eid Jamat prayer which was finalized in the AGM. Moreover, 92 eid jamaat will be held in different wards of the city as per decision of the zonal committee, sources said.
The chief guest in his brief deliberations said beside two Eid Jamaat of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha, central eid jamat committee also conducted different social activities in national level like distribution of reliefs among the disaster prone people, financial assistance to poors and hapless, distribution of new clothes among the poors and distressed during eid festivals and distribution of sweing machine aimed at sustaining the women in self reliant.
He expressed satisfaction over the ongoing activities of the Eid jamat committee beside the Eid Jamat arrangement. He also hoped for future expansion of the activities of the committee to the welfare of the poors and less fortunate people. Among others, Alhaj Shahjada Enayetullah khan, Moulana Mamunur Rashid Nuri, Shahjada Khaja Belayet ullah khan, Alhaj MA Quddus, Prof. Dr. Md Ismail Miah, Alhaj Dastigar Alam Nasu, and Ashrafuzzamnan spoke in it. At the end of the AGM, the chair sought cooperation of all concerned to organize the coming Eidul Fitr namaj at stadium adjoining ground successfully . Iftar and doa mahfil also arranged in the AGM duly attended by the orphans, poor students of different madrashas ,committee members, invited guests and journalists, sources said.
