Ctg AL leaders left for Tungipara to arrange Mezban

The leaders of Chittagong City Awami League led by President of Chittagong City Awami League and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury left Chittagong for Tungipara for offering ziarat at the mazar of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and making arrangement for feeding 30 thousand people through traditional Mezban of Chittagong there.
 The leaders and workers of the party consists of about 500 with a convoy of 35 including bus and microbus led by Mohiuddin Chowdhury left Chittagong from Jamiatul Falah Mosque premises at 5 pm. Before starting journey to Tungi para , Mohiuddin Chowdhury briefly addressed the gatherings and said we should uphold the ideas and concept of the Bangabandhu and it is our duty to offer ziarat in his Mazar on 15th august every year. Mohiuddin Chowdhury also said the journey to Tungipara to observed the mourning day began from 1979 but it was suspended for some times and again started from 2000 . City AL leader Shafiq Adnan told that food will be distributed in two schools adjacent to Mazar and people of all religion are also invited to attend the mezban . A sources said about 20 thousand muslims and 8 thousands of other religions will be distributed food in the mezban.
He said a team of cook consists of 120 led by Personal secretary of former Mayor Md. Osman gani left Chittagong earlier and they already reached the venue in Tungipara. The large AL team will back from Tungipara in evening hours of Saturday after completion of the feeding function, sources said.
6 drug peddlers held from : CMP police in separate drives in the city rounded up six drug peddlers from different areas on Wednesday . During the drive, 30 liters of locally made wine and 321 pieces of yaba tablets . The drive continued from Wednesday night to Thursday morning.
The detained identified as Nezamuddin, Salahuddin, Sumon, Marma, and Hamid and one is unidentified. A CMP sources said acting on secret tip off, police rounded up them. Sources said Nezamuddin held from Pathergatha with 100 yabas, two held from Chandgaon area with 51 yabas and Marma from Halishahar area with 30 liters local wine .
 Besides, Salahudin and Hamid were rounded up from Oxygen and Noapara area with yabas on early Thursday , sources said. Cases have been lodged with the concerned thanas against them under narcotics act, sources said.
