Criminals felled at least 600 young rubber plants on 4 bighas out of 5 acres land belonging to a villager at Kolimabad village in Kulaura Upazila on Friday night.
“I have never seen such a heinous act in my life. Those who have felled the trees should be brought to book,” said victim Saiful Alom, son of Abdul Lotif of the village.
“All my investment has gone in vain,” added the 40-year-old hapless land owner. Saiful also said he planted around 1000 saplings of robbers on the land two years ago.I lost tk. 5 lakh in this regard. He found the trees felled by criminals when he went to his land in the morning, added the victim.
Later, he filed a case with Kulaura Sadar police station in this connection, said Abdul Ahad, ASI and IO of this case.
