Dr. Muhammad Javed Patwary, Inspector General of Police Bangladesh said, due to decay of social norms and values, heinous crime like rape increased in the society. He called to prevent such crimes by creating social resistance and movement. Every family should make consciousness among their children for prevent such crimes and create norms of practicing ethical values and social.
The IGP of Bangladesh during his visit at Barishal on Wednesday noon was answering questions of the journalists after the inaugural ceremony of newly constructed office cum residence complex of circle assistant superintendent of police, 12 police barracks of different units, sixty police investigation centers including Agarpur of Babuganj under Barishal.
He after flying balloons and cutting flower-ribbon entering inside the newly constructed complex and establishment , visited those.
Answering questionds of journalists IGP told the heinous crime like rape and violation against women and children increasing in the society and police department also alert about prevention and taking speedy action against such crimes.
Answering question about the future of sensational killing of journalists Sagor-Runi, the IGP said in some cases time needed to find out right clues and identify real culprits in crimes like murder and killing. Such kinds of crimes also happening in other countries of the world and due to delay we could not say that police failed to investigate Sagor-Runi killing. Rapid Action Battalion investing that killing and cautiously cross checking every information and clue.
The IGP also denied any pressure against investigating Sagor-Runi murder.
Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, deputy inspector general of police Barishal range, Muhammad Shahabuddin Khan, commissioner Barishal Metropolitan Police, Saiful Islam, Barishal district police superintendent, Abdur Raqib, additional police superintendent and other high officials of police of different districts of the division were present during the ceremony.
