Members of Bangladesh preliminary squad took part in their practice sessions in Negombo, Sri Lanka on Thursday. Earlier, all the members of Bangladesh preliminary squad have tested negative for coronavirus. Members of Bangladesh preliminary squad had to take three-day long quarantine period at the Jet Young Beach Hotel, which is adjacent to the sea. After finishing their quarantine period and successfully passed the Covid-19 test, members of Bangladesh preliminary squad took part in their practice sessions.
The players took part in the skill training. Pace bowling coach Ottis Gibson worked with pacers Abu Jayed, Ebadat Hossain, Taskin Ahmed and Khaled Ahmed. The other bowlers also took part in the net sessions.
Team Leader Khaled Mahmud Sujon made understand Liton Das the duty of wicketkeeper. The batsmen took their preparation yesterday. The cricketers did fielding after splitting themselves into small groups.
The cricketers will take part in their practice sessions at the same ground today.
The cricketers will take part an intra-squad match on April 17 and April 18 at Katunayake. Then the final squad will be announced for the upcoming two Test matches. The Tests are the part of ICC Test Championship. After the intra-squad match, the cricketers will leave Negombo on April 19 for Kandy to play in the two Test matches there.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy from April 21 to April 25.
The second Test match between the hosts and the tourists will take place at the same venue from April 29 to May 3.
