After Bangladesh’s mesmeric win against England at Adelaide, all the former and current cricketing heroes went totally gaga and congratulated the Tigers and the people of Bangladesh through their posts in social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.
Great Aussie spinner Shane Warne wrote, “Congrats to everyone involved in Bangladesh cricket, just amazing scenes in Adelaide & what the World Cup is all about – “PRIDE & PASSION”, while his compatriot fast bowler Mitchell Starc tweeted, “Well done Bangladesh!!”.
Former Bangladeshi bowling coach Saqlain Mushtaq was also pretty fast in congratulating his former students as he wrote, “Congratulations to @BCBtigers on the results.”
Saqlain’s former teammate all-rounder Azhar Mahmood also lauded the game of Tigers, especially that of Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfikur Rahim and Rubel Hossain, tweeting, “Well done Bangladesh! Fantastic team performance! Mahmudullah & Mushy was outstanding! Rubel brilliant death bowling!”
Former English captain Michael Vaughan though fell short in this regard, however, inspiring his team with tweet like: “Surely you don’t need to look at any Data to tell you that 275 is chase able against Bangladesh….!!!”. But his tweet hardly made any effect on Bangladesh bowlers as they romped home to send England packing home.
