Creating a social resistance against drugs and narcotics substances has become imperative to protect young generations from deadly consequences of drug abuse.
Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) and District Administration in Kishoreganj jointly organized the programme marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking recently .
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam attended as chief guest while ADM Farzana Khanam presided over.
Officials of civil and police administrations, health, education and youth development and departments concerned, public representatives and civil society members participated in the event.
It was addressed among others by Additional SP (Circle) Md. Al-Amin, as special guest , Magistrate Shafiqul Islam, Mohila Awami League district secretary Bilkis Begum and DNC AD Rafiqul Islam.
Later, a colour full rally brought out in the town on Sunday morning.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said creating public awareness about drug abuse and grave consequences has become very important to diminish the social disease to build a healthy society and achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).
