Creating more opportunities for youths stressed

Terming youths as the main warrior in realising the dreams and future plans of the country, speakers at a webinar underscored the need for properly utilising the potentials and talent of youths to make the country prosperous and developed one.
They came up with the remarks in the eighth episode of the ruling Awami League’s ongoing webinar titled ‘Beyond the Pandemic’ at the official Facebook page of the party.
This episode’s topic was ‘Education and Skill Development of Youth: Future Strategies’ where the speakers discussed the initiatives taken for ensuring proper education and creating opportunities for youths to develop different skills which will allow the young people of the country to prepare strategies for their future.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Barrister Shah Ali Farhad conducted the episode while Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury and Vice-Chancellor at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) Prof Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor, among others, took part in the webinar as discussants.
The webinar aired live as usual on the party’s official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/awamileague.1949) and Youtube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/myalbd ).
Also, a private TV channel Bijoy TV broadcasted the show. Viewers also watched the program on Facebook pages of Somoy TV, national dailies including Ittefaq, Samakal, Jugantar, Bhorer Kagoj and online news sites including bdnews24.com, banglanews24.com, jagonews24.com, sarabangla.net and barta24.com.
Viewers asked their queries and suggest ideas to the speakers during the live session through Facebook. The webinar’s primary goal is to know what general people, especially the youth, are thinking about government and party’s steps and measures to tackle the pandemic.
Dr Dipu Moni said, “We have started online classes for secondary and higher secondary level on Sangsad television channel from March 29, after closing all the educational institutions on March 17.
Besides, private and other educational institutions have been taking online classes regularly, she said.
Emphasizing youth strength, she said, “In our manifesto, we always give priority to youth, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina involve them with our national dream, they are our future, main warrior in materializing dreams,”
Russell said that government is working to create employment for youth who have become jobless due to coronavirus outbreak in the country.
“It is the moral responsibility of the state to stand by their side during this crisis,” said the state minister adding that Department of Youth already has taken a project to create self-employment for youth and to eradicate poverty.
Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said, “For the digital system, we can manage our important works sitting in the home.”
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son SajeebWazed Joy introduced us with the system and now we can work from home using online platform” he added.
The first show was held on 15th May the topic of which was ‘Public Awareness to Tackle Coronavirus’. In this episode, the speakers and viewers talked about how Digital Bangladesh is playing a major role in creating awareness in people to fight Covid-19.
