Craft exhibition begins at DU Fine Arts Faculty

The annual art exhibition of Dhaka University’s Craft Department began with a pledge to make craft a medium for intellectual exercise for social advancement. A total of 115 art works of 47 students were exhibited in the event held at Lecture Theater of the Fine Art Faculty on the campus on Thursday. On the first day of week-long exibition , seven students were awarded for their best art works.
The exhibition will continue till December 5. It will remain open every day from 11am to 8pm.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest. While addressing the programme, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said such kind of exhibition creates room for intellectual exercise. Fine Art Faculty Dean Professor Nisar Hossain, Associate Professor Mohammad Nazib, Convener of the exhibition Assistant Professor Farhana Ferdousi addressed the function with Craft Department Chairperson Md. Abdul Momen in the chair.
Speakers at the programme said through this exhibition the students of Fine Art will be able to present their artistic excellence and creativity necessary for flourishing modern fine arts.
