Cracks found in city building

Cracks have developed in a four-storied building and three residential houses at Siddik Bazar on Tuesday morning. All the residents have been evacuated from the buildings as security reasons, Fire Service sources said.
Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Control Room On-duty Officer Shahjadi Sultana said that two teams of police and fire service rushed to the spot and evacuated the residents around 3:00am. But, they came back to their residences in the morning. The police and the fire service officials visited the spot again and took necessary steps to avert any untoward incident.
FSCD DIG Abdul Halim visited the spot in the morning and asked the residents to vacate their flats immediately for own safety. According to FSCD officials, cracks had also developed on floors of three adjacent houses.
The Rajuk has been informed about the matter, said FSCD members.
Bangshal Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Quddus Fakir said that a team of police had been deployed in the spot and its adjacent areas.
