The alliance of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) has started their second day ‘Teesta march’ towards Bogra after holding a rally in Sirajganj on Friday.
The rally was held at Bazar Point in the district town and then they started for Bogra at about 10 am.
The rally was addressed, among others by Manjurul Hasan Khan, former president of CPB, Khalekuzzaman, general secretary of BSD, Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed, general secretary of CPB and BSD leader Bazlur Rahman Kiron.
Rzzequzzaman Ratan, a central leader of BSD, said they will hold a short rally on way to Bogra while another rally would be held at about 5 pm in Bogra.
The will stay overnight in Rangpur and start for Teesta Barrage in Lalmonirhat in the next morning.
The two-party alliance jointly launched their three-day ‘Teesta march’ after a rally in front of the National Press Club on Thursday afternoon.
Later the marchers held a rally at Gazipur intersection at 6:45 pm and stayed overnight in Sirajganj.
The CPB-BSD alliance jointly orgainsed the ‘Teesta March’ programme demanding equal share of waters of 54 common rivers, including the Teesta, flowing down from India.
