A mobile court of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), in a drive evicted an illegally built deock yard, a jetty and other illegal establishments on CPA-owned land on the bank of the river Karnaphuli on Wednesday.
Executive Magistrate Mohammad Abul Hashem along with police and CPA Ansar members conducted the drive and evicted the illegal Dock Yard of one Haji Abdur Rahman and fined him TK one lakh for establishing an illegal Dock Yard on the CPA-owned land in Taltola area adjacent to the Chittagong Port.
In another drive the mobile court evicted an illegal Jetty of one Jahangir Member and fined him TK 20 thousand for establishing illegal establishments on CPA-owned land in city’s Karnaphuli Shah Amanat bridge area.
The CPA Executive Magistrate said the establishments were evicted under the Port Authorities Lands and Buildings (Recovery of Possession) Ordinance, 1962.
