Covid deaths near to double in a day DGHS records 34 deaths, 4,746 new cases

Covid-19 deaths reached near to double within a day comparatively with the previous day as per the health authorities’ data.
The data of the Directorate General of Health Services showed that the fatal virus claimed 34 more lives of the patients and infected 4,746 others across the country in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
As per the statistics the total fatalities reached 28,872 and cases to 19,19,102 since the country had reported the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the deadly virus on March 18, 2020.
Of the deceased, 21 were male patients and the remaining 13 were female.
The DGHS revealed the latest record on its daily Covid press release. It said that a total of 34,458 samples were tested during the period across the country and found test positivity rate 13.77 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 11,417 patients were recovered from the infection. With this, a total of 17,03,309 people recovered from the fatal disease.
Of the latest deceased, 21 were from Dhaka division, four in Barishal, two each in Chattogram, Khulna, Sylhet, and Rangpur divisions and another died in Rajshahi division.
As per the release a total of 28 patients died in government hospitals and six others died in non-government hospitals in the last 24 hours.
