The number of Crona-infected patients in Sylhet division is increasing in an alarming rate everyday. But local authority cannot tackle the pressure of extra people who come for corona test daily. That’s why local people face enormous trouble to get Corona report after giving their samples.
According to local sources, it generally take 10 days to give only samples for Corona test. But to get the results it takes more days. There has been a long tangle with only two labs those try to test the sample of four districts of the division.
Locals however, urge to increase the number and capacity of labs ease their sufferings.
Abu Saeed Abdullah Chowdhury, a veteran lawyer of Sylhet District Bar Association and a freedom fighter, lost the battle with Corona recently. It was known that the victim’s corona result did not come even within 10 days of taking sample. Finally he died before getting Corona report while undergoing treatment.
Bhabatosh Roy Barman, former commander of Sylhet Freedom Fighters Command Council, said it is very pathetic that a freedom fighter who fought for the country but unfortunately died without getting corona report.
Shah Didar Alam Chowdhury Nobel, General Secretary of the Sylhet District Press Club, said that corona reports came from Dhaka after 13 days of taking sample.
There is no alternative to set up more labs to solve this problem, said the Assistant Director of the Sylhet Region Health Department Dr. Anisur Rahman.
