Covid-19 vaccination campaign launched in Rangpur

The Covid-19 vaccination campaign began on Sunday in all eight districts of Rangpur division.
The Civil Surgeons’ offices under management of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) launched the campaign at the district and upazila level government hospitals and upazila health complexes.
Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa inaugurated the vaccination drive in the city taking first shot at a booth at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH)
Later, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu, Civil Surgeon Dr. Herambo Kumar Roy and Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan took vaccines there.
On the first day, 600 people in 6 booths of Rangpur City Corporation, 600 people in 6 booths of 8 upazilas and 200 people in 2 booths of Rangpur CMHA will be vaccinated, said the health department of Rangpur.
BSS adds: Civil Surgeon Dr. Herambo Kumar Roy said none of the immunised persons felt any type of side effects in Rangpur district where 1,500 citizens, out of a total registered 7,500 so far, are likely to get the vaccines today (Sunday).
“We are rolling out the vaccination campaign at 15 booths, including eight booths at RpMCH and seven more booths at each of the other seven upazila health complexes in Rangpur as per guidelines of the government,” he said.
