Covid-19 claims 18 more lives, infects 1,474 in country

Bangladesh reported 1,474 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours until early Sunday, pushing the caseload to 420,238.
Meanwhile, 18 more patients died from the virus at that time, taking the fatalities to 6,067. The death rate stood at 1.44%, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
So far, 338,145 patients – 80.47% – including 1,577 new ones in the last 24 hours have recovered.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The infection number reached the 300,000-mark on August 26. The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 6,000 on November 4.
So far, 2,442,602 tests have been carried out, including 12,760 new ones and 17.20% of the patients turned out positive.
Bangladesh is seeing 2467.54 infections, 1985.51 recoveries, and 35.62 deaths per million.
So far, 3,170 people have died in Dhaka division, 1,197 in Chattogram, 373 in Rajshahi, 476 in Khulna, 202 in Barishal, 253 in Sylhet, 270 in Rangpur, and 126 in Mymensingh.
