Court orders re-investigation on cocaine case

A court in Chittagong on Thursday accepted the appeal of the state lawyers for further investigation of the sensational cocaine case. The court directed Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for further investigation of the case. The court of the Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge Mohammad Shah-e-Noor accepted the appeal of the lawyers for more investigation of the sensational cocaine case. The court also directed RAB for further investigation of the case.
The lawyer of state and Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury who submitted the objection against the charge sheet of police (discontented appeal or Na-Razi Appeal) before the court on August 9.  
He said, ” We had filed objection against the charge sheet of police (discontented appeal or Na-Raji Appeal) before the court on August 9. The objection also appealed for more and elaborated investigation of the cocaine smuggling in this regard. PP Advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury said,
But, the police did not find any involvement of the prime accused Nur Mohammed.” Sources said, on April 4 this, the supplementary charge sheet of the cocaine case of Chittagong port was submitted before the court after rejecting the charge sheet against eight persons including two persons living in London in connection of the cocaine case on December 7 in 2015.
The supplementary charge sheet of the case included the two controversial persons named Nur Mohammad and Mostak Ahamod living in London. Sources said, the officials of Customs Intelligence Department sealed the containers loaded with cocaine on June 6 in 2015 after getting information about cocaine. The officials opened the containers on June 8 in 2015 and saw 107 drums of liquid sunflower oil. Later, the officials of the department sent to the laboratory for chemical test and laboratory confirmed about presence of cocaine on June 27 in 2015 after test. Sub Inspector of Port thana Osman Goni filed a case in this connection on June 28 in the same year.
According to the sources, court rejected the charge sheet against eight persons including two persons living in London in connection of the case of Chittagong port on December 7 in 2015. The court ordered to reinvestigate the case with an Additional SP ranked police officer by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). At the FIR of the case one Nur Mohammad was the prime accused. But, the then IO of the case excluded the name of prime accused from the charge sheet of the case.
