Rajshahi, Sept 21 (UNB) – A couple were killed and eight other people injured when a bus ploughed through their house in Baharampur rail crossing area of the city early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Bashir Hossain,40, and his wife Reshma Begum,35, while the injured were Dipu Miah,35, and his wife Champa Begum, 30, and bus passengers Mamun,30, Firoz,40, Manik,31, Emdadul,34, Uttam,50, and Sharif,23.
Officer-in-charge of Rajpara Police Station Aman Ullah said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound `Keya Paribahan` bus from Chapainawabganj ploughed into a roadside house in the area as its driver lost control over the steering at about 2:00 am, leaving the couple dead on the spot and eight other people, including six passengers of the bus, injured.
The injured were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
A case was filed in this connection.
