Police rounded up one couple allegedly involved with the drug trafficking from Bakalia area in city yesterday morning. Police recovered 1500 pieces of yaba from their possession. These couple is going to Dhaka alongwith yaba through Chittagong from Coxsbazar.
After searching a passenger bus at Shah Amanat bridge area, the couple was caught redhanded.
The couple identified as Md. Masudur Rahman(35) and his wife Ruma Akhter(30) . Bakalia thana officer incharge Md. Mohsin told this correspondent that the couple hails from Tangail district and came over Teknaf for yaba tablets.
They confessed to police that they are doing drug trafficking business since long , sources said.
