Police recovered the bodies of a man and his wife at their rented flat on Babur Road in Mohammadpur of the capital. The bodies were recovered early Monday (September 26).
The deceased were identified as Noman, 32, and his wife Shamima, 24. Both come from Lalmohan upazila of Bhola district. Confirming this to the media, Sheikh Kamruzzaman, Inspector (investigation) of Mohammadpur police station, said getting a phone call from emergency service 999 around 11:30 pm on Sunday night, a team of police rushed to the spot.
Later, they broke the door and recovered the bodies from the second floor of the building.
Noman’s body was hanging from the ceiling while Shamima was lying on the floor, said Sheikh Kamruzzaman. The bodies were kept at a hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
It is suspected that Noman might have committed suicide after killing her wife. Details can be learnt after getting autopsy reports, he added.
