The government will conduct a weeklong countrywide drive to ensure the use of jute bags in six products. The drive will commence from October 25.
The drive will be conducted on roads and highways, rice producing areas and the entry points to the capital.
The products include rice with chaff, rice, wheat, maize, sugar and fertilizer.
State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam disclosed the matter in a ministry meeting on Tuesday.
The ministries of Home, Textiles and Jute and the Environment and Forests and Jute Directorate will conduct the drive with the help of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police officials and district administration.
